I’m Chris, director and co-founder of Aeva AI.

I didn’t come from healthcare. I spent almost five years in real estate, making over 20,000 calls and booking thousands of appointments. It taught me just how important it is to answer the phone and how easy it is to lose an appointment when you don’t.

When I started speaking with allied health clinics, I realised they were facing the exact same problem. Phones ringing non-stop. Receptionists or practice owners doing their best, but juggling patients at the front desk, admin, and every call that comes through.

Some were outsourcing to external call centres, but the problem, was those call handlers didn’t actually know the clinic, the team, or the patient experience. It left callers feeling like just another number, and it wasn’t helping much. Patients were getting frustrated. Appointments were being missed. And clinics were losing revenue without even knowing it.

That’s when the idea for Aeva was born.

But I couldn’t build it alone. I had the vision and the experience in customer service, but not the technical skills. That’s when I teamed up with Louis Evans, a brilliant developer, friend, and someone I’m proud to call my co-founder. Together, we built this company from the ground up. We’re two young entrepreneurs who genuinely care about solving this problem. Not just building software, but building something that actually helps people.

No hold music. No awkward call centre scripts. No missed opportunities.

We’re not here to replace receptionists, we’re here to support them. To take the pressure off. To make life at the front desk a little easier, and to make sure every patient gets a great experience, no matter when they call.

Today, Aeva is helping clinics across Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and our home country (New Zealand) reduce stress and run more smoothly.
