Chris Baxter, our co-founder and director, has been based in both New Zealand and Australia, where he mastered the art of a great phone call through hands-on experience, making over 20,000 calls himself. When he discovered AI calling technology, he saw a gap—while the tech was advanced, it lacked a human touch and still sounded robotic.

That’s when Chris teamed up with co-founder and business partner, Louis Evans. The technical expertise provided by Louis was the missing piece needed to build AI phone receptionists that are reliable at scale and sound like real people, not machines. This collaboration led to the birth of Aeva AI, with a mission to humanise AI calls.
